Our method
How we research
Last updated October 29, 2026
We research and compare. We don't claim to have tested a product unless we actually have, and when we have, we say so on that page.
What we look at
- The product itself: materials, sizing, construction, care instructions and what the brand guarantees.
- Owner experience: verified buyer reviews across several retailers, with attention to patterns rather than single stories, and to complaints about durability, sizing and customer service.
- Expert sources: veterinary guidance, published research and safety information, including product recalls.
- The fine print: price, shipping, subscription terms, trial periods and return policies.
How a pick makes the cut
A product earns a place when it does its job well for a clear kind of dog and owner, and the evidence agrees. Every pick says who it's for and who should skip it. If something is good but not for everyone, we say so.
How we check discount codes
- We only list a code after we've checked that it works.
- Every code shows the date we last checked it.
- We re-check listed codes on a regular schedule and remove codes that stop working or expire.
- We never show an unchecked or expired code as working.
Codes can still change without notice on the brand's side, so always check the final price at checkout.
What we never do
- Let a brand pay to be ranked or recommended. Any paid placement would be clearly labeled "Sponsored" and kept apart from our picks.
- Invent reviews, testers, people or numbers.
- Say "tested" when we mean "researched".
Keeping things current
Prices, products and codes change. We review our guides regularly and update them when something important changes. Each page shows when it was last updated.
Money
We earn commissions through some links. That's how the site is paid for, and it never decides what we recommend. Read the full affiliate disclosure.
