Privacy policy

The short version: we collect as little as we can, we don't sell your personal information, and we only email you if you ask us to.

What we collect

• Your email address, only if you sign up for our discount code emails. We use it to send those emails and nothing else.
• Messages you send us, if you contact us. We use them to reply.
• Basic technical data. Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, processes standard request data (such as IP address, browser type and the page requested) to deliver the site and protect it from abuse.

Analytics and cookies

The Dog Dept. does not set advertising cookies. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits and see which pages are read. It doesn't use cookies, doesn't track you across other sites and doesn't build a profile of you. It records things like the page viewed, the referring site, your browser type and your rough region.

Links to other sites

When you follow a link or use a code, you leave our site. The brand or affiliate network may set its own cookies to track the referral and may collect information under its own privacy policy. We don't control those sites, so please read their policies.

Emails

We only email you if you sign up. Every email says who it's from and has an unsubscribe link that works. Unsubscribe whenever. We won't take it personally.

Sharing

We don't sell or rent your personal information, and we don't share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, as those terms are used in California law. We share it only with service providers that help us run the site and send emails, only as needed for that, or when the law requires it.

How long we keep it

We keep your email address until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. We keep messages you send us only as long as we need them to reply and keep a record of the conversation.

Your choices

You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it, through our contact page. Depending on where you live, including California and other U.S. states with privacy laws, you may have additional rights. We'll honor them and won't treat you differently for using them.

Children

This site is meant for adults. We don't knowingly collect information from children under 13.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
